Ironstone Farm- Challenge Unlimited

The Service Club of Andover is proud to have supported Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm which has been helping children and adults find hope and healing through equine-assisted therapies. "They serve people with a wide range of disabilities and challenges, uniting a diverse population in an environment that encourages joy, well-being, and improved quality of life."

The Service Club of Andover is proud to have donated a horse named Enzo to Ironstone Farm that will provide equine therapy to special need individuals and veterans. We named him Enzo in honor of our founder Enzo Fossella who helped Ironstone Farm/Challenge Unlimited grow their program for developmentally disabled adults.  He would many years later be honored by Ironstone Farm for his dedication to the program.

Ironstone Farm was thrilled to introduce their newest herd member, Enzo!🐎 This 9-year-old Haflinger came all the way from Colorado and is one of our biggest, standing tall at 15.1HH. With a solid foundation from his training center in NH, a brave, confident personality, and a sweet demeanor, we know Enzo will excel in our programs across all ages. He loves to be with people and can't wait to meet you all! Look out for his unique facial marking the next time you visit the farm!

Special Field Games

Special Field Games 2012

The Special Field Games games are held at Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill Campus in September. This will be the 41st year for the games.

The annual Special Field Games is a sporting event for people of all ages with special needs, co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Service Club of Andover. Over 200 athletes, caregivers, and volunteers enjoy participating in athletic events, music and dance, and a hearty lunch.  Everyone has a great time and everyone is a winner. Northern Essex has generously hosted the Special Field Games for many years.

Chris Deducci, 33, has been attending the Special Field Games since he was 12 years old, and he now travels from his new residence in South Carolina to take part in the annual games. The same goes for many of the athletes and volunteers that arrived at NECCO early Saturday morning. The entire day produced smiles and new friendships as one-on-one buddies got to know each other throughout the events.
